Terms of use

The rules for using aktenzeit.de: what you can expect, what is expected of you, and the limits of liability.

Who you are dealing with

These terms apply between you and Sorin-Ionut Curescu, trading as en3sis, Nürnberg, Germany, the operator of Aktenzeit. Full operator details are in the imprint.

What Aktenzeit is

Aktenzeit is a free service that collects waiting times at German immigration and naturalisation offices reported by applicants, shows aggregated figures and estimates, and shows official figures with their source. Aktenzeit is not run by any authority and has no influence on any procedure.

Reported figures are not verified. Estimates are statistical and can be wrong for your case. Nothing on Aktenzeit is legal advice or information from an authority. For your own case, ask the office or a lawyer.

Who may use Aktenzeit

You must be at least 16 years old.

Your reports

Only report your own application, or one you know first-hand, and to the best of your knowledge. You grant us a non-exclusive, free, permanent licence to store your report, to publish it as an anonymous single report and to use it in aggregated figures and estimates. You can have your report deleted at any time as described in the privacy policy; figures already calculated or published from many reports are not recalculated retroactively.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • submit false, invented or duplicate reports, or reports about other people's applications without their knowledge;
  • submit reports automatically or in bulk, or bypass the limits on reports per connection;
  • attack, probe, overload or disrupt the service;
  • use the service to break the law.

We may hide reports and block access where there are concrete indications of a breach of these rules.

Listings for law firms

Paid listings for law firms are agreed separately, with price and duration stated before booking. These terms apply to them where the separate agreement does not say otherwise.

Availability and changes

Aktenzeit is offered without a right to continued availability and may be changed, limited or discontinued at any time.

Liability

  • We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act.
  • Because Aktenzeit is free of charge, any further liability is excluded, in line with the statutory standard for gratuitous services (sections 521 and 599 BGB). In particular, we are not liable for decisions you make based on figures or estimates shown on Aktenzeit.
  • These limits also apply to the personal liability of anyone acting for us.

Law and jurisdiction

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually reside. If you are a merchant, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Nürnberg. We are not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated with effect for the future. The version on this page, with its date at the top, applies.

Final provisions

If any provision of these terms is invalid, the remaining provisions stay effective and the statutory rules apply in place of the invalid provision.
